About Us
Red, yellow, and green. No, we’re not talking about a stoplight, we’re talking about apples! While you have seen these colors of apples, maybe you don’t know the difference between them. Green apples, like Granny Smith, tend to be very tart and crisp, while redder apples, like Red Delicious or Honeycrisp, are sweeter and juicier. Yellow apples like Golden Delicious sit perfectly between the two, offering a mellow sweetness. Did you know that Berks County is one of the biggest mushroom-producing counties in the United States? When you factor in the neighboring Chester County, we produce 60% of all mushrooms in the country. Berks County mushroom farms produce anywhere from 180 to 220 million pounds of mushrooms every year. Those are some serious fungi if you ask us! 🍄‍🟫
